RE[TOXIC]TREAT
RADIANT LIFESTYLES FOR THE WORRIED WELL
Could embracing the health benefits of toxicity persuade society to accept nuclear power?

In Ramsar, a spa town in Iran, residents are exposed to 200 mSv of radiation per year. When the DNA of the residents was analysed, they had significantly reduced chromosomal abnormalities than those of a control group. Similarly, When mammals living in the Chernobyl exclusion zone were analysed it was found that specific cancer protecting genes had been turned on in their DNA. Therefore;

The UK tourism industry is booming. The number of visits to the UK doubled between 1985 and 2005. Chinese visitors to London increased by 26 per cent to 82,000 in 2007 and this number is set to rise to 350,000 by 2012.

Medical tourism is prospering globally, and it will jump by a factor of ten over the next decade.

Millions of Britons currently spend £130 million a year on alternative medicines and it is estimated that this will reach £200 million over the next four years. Furthermore, 68% of people in the UK believe that these medicines are as valid as conventional treatment.

In 2020, Britain has disregarded old-fashioned havens in favour of a wonderland of health-giving toxic treats. The UK can no longer fill its brochures with idyllic snaps of Englishness, and instead embraces toxic landscapes and furthermore markets them to a new brand of health tourists. At the Radiance Resort and Spa, lead textile shielding creates a varied landscape of gamma radiation, making a hierarchy of treatments where radiation and toxicity level is indicative of exclusivity.
