SPACE HOLDER NUCLEAR TEXTILE
GAMMA FILTRATION FOR THE WORRIED WELL
In a society that embraces radiation as a holistic miracle-cure; could nuclear architecture become luxurious?

The Nuclear Textile is a lead-laced fabric that blocks harmful radiation. It is a shielding fabric that can be layered and folded to provide the user with the desired level of protection.

In Retoxic Treat, I asked the question; Could embracing the health benefits of toxicity persuade society to accept nuclear power? Retoxic Treat is based on the premise that low levels of radiation still present in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone has made nearby animal life immune to cancer. Noticing a shift in today's society from traditional medicine to alternative therapies that often contain small amounts of poisons, I proposed a near future in which nuclear radiation is consumed by an increasingly health-obsessed Britain.

It is in such a world that The Nuclear Textile exists. Designed for a future whose architectural aspirations are part luxury medical spa; part nuclear bunker, this sumptuous fabric is a product for a society obsessed with medical luxury.
